The famous Japanese steakhouse Yum Yum sauce, for example, is phenomenal when served with grilled meats and seafood, roasted vegetables but could also be enjoyed as a dip.
A fun fact is you won’t find the Yum Yum sauce on any menu in Japan. Apparently, this sauce was invented in America but served in popular Japanese restaurants all over the US, like in Teppanyaki or Hibachi style dining, or in sushi places, as a topping for sushi rolls.
The Japanese Yum Yum sauce is super easy to make and this is the light version made with Greek Yogurt. You can serve it as a dip for Shrimps cocktail, or slather it on hamburgers, drizzle it over fried rice or noodles or as a dip for French fries, potstickers or crudités, etc.
This sauce is perfect with my RedRock inspired Sliced Beef Rice Bowl, check out the recipe here.
