One of the happiest events in my life brings me to Bangkok: the birth of baby Luc… My heart just swells with love when holding this little bundle of joy! Proud parents Bruce and Ja Eh are over the moon…
I have been traveling to Thailand every year for the past couple of decades… The first few times have been to discover this beautiful country and visit the numerous sites and landmarks. But I’ll be frank, the remaining trips have been for the main purpose of eating. My love of Thai food is notorious… So guess what does one do when a newborn takes his frequent naps?
Bangkok Street Food
Ja Eh takes me to the Food Market near her home. Everywhere I go, I love to eat street food, usually it’s the freshest and most delicious as the locals really know good food.
Street food can be found in practically every district in Bangkok. I have been to so many that I have lost count, but this place has a really wide variety!
There’s an array of different types of food, from dimsums, to Thai spicy salad, grilled meats (so delicious with sticky rice), grilled fish, stewed pork leg, fried chicken and seafood, noodles soup, fried rice…
It’s a real dilemma to make a selection. Finally I settle for a delicious Duck Noodle Soup.
. Cinema Dining
Luxury theatre experience with dining service is a popular concept in Asia. To escape the afternoon heat, we go to the movies and get “Concierge” tickets which include a buffet with appetizers and desserts, and a selection of drinks, juices and wines.
The theater also has comfortable sofa beds seating and you can pick the type of material for the sofa such as velvet, leather, fabric etc. Of course you can also pick the material of the blankets! Each seating area has its own fridge filled with drinks and popcorn is also served… I wonder when this concept will be available in LA!
Steak Dinner in Bangkok
Not only Bangkok has the best Thai food, you can also enjoy top notch international cuisine. Bruce and Ja Eh take me to a steak place, and the aged meat is cooked to perfection!
Japanese dining in Bangkok
I have enjoyed amazing Japanese food in Tokyo, Hong Kong, New York and Los Angeles. However I must say that this sushi dinner in Bangkok is outstanding, and the price is so much more reasonable than the other places. The sashimi and sushi taste so fresh and the foie gras sushi is really to die for…
I’m craving for all these delicious meals in Bangkok as I type this…
