Frosted Cranberries

Frosted Cranberries

Frosted Cranberries add a festive touch to any appetizers or desserts, home made or store-bought.

Here’s a really easy and simple recipe. You only need 2 ingredients: a pack of fresh cranberries and 1 and 1/2 cup sugar.

First wash the cranberries

Auto Draft 196
Wash the fresh cranberries

In a medium sauce pan, heat 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water till the sugar is melted and well mixed with the water, around 3 minutes. There’s no need for the liquid to boil. Take away from the heat and let cool.

Add the cranberries and mix well.

Auto Draft 197
Mix the cranberries in a simple syrup

With a strainer or slotted spoon, scoop out the cranberries to a wide colander or a rack to drain and dry for about an hour.

Use the frosted cranberries to decorate appetizers, like this Charcuterie Wreath, or as a pie topping, or as garnish for store-bought cheesecake, chocolate cup cakes etc. If you wish add some fresh mint leaves to create a holly look.
