During summer in the United Arab Emirates, the temperature soars and we thought the best way to enjoy a round of golf would be after sunset when the weather is cooler and less humid.
Currently, the Emirates Golf Club is the only course in the region where you can play 18-holes of floodlit golf.
The green fees and clubs rental charges are quite steep, but there may be deals available. Here’s the Emirates Golf Club website to check current rates. However, it’s worth every penny as the course is beautiful and the equipment is first class.
The Cart and Rentals
Each cart is fitted with state-of-the-art GPS system and the rental clubs are of high quality (Ping all the way).
The course itself is immaculate and surrounded by Dubai’s mesmerizing skyline.
The Club House
The club house is modern and quite luxurious, with several bars and restaurants. Dubai legal system is largely determined by Sharia law which prohibits alcohol except in licensed places like hotel and clubs bars and restaurants. When we were there, we were informed that no alcohol would be served after 5 pm.
The Driving Range
The practice area is spacious with a nice driving range and putting green.
There are fourteen well-placed lakes lining the spacious fairways and greens. A natural wadi runs through the entire course, and almost every hole involves water hazzard. The par-73 course measures 7,348 yards from the black tees.
The Emirates Club is renowned for being one of the finest golfing destinations and the only one in the region that offers night golf. The quality of the flood lighting is impressive, the course is very well illuminated throughout.
Dubai night golf is truly a unique experience, especially against a backdrop of the city center sparkling lights.
